Yes, it’s running but…

Club de Padel, Manchester’s first city centre padel club, is playing host to a new weekly run club organised by Made Running from Monday (September 30th).

Founded by Hermen Dange, Made Running is one of the UK’s most prolific run clubs, attracting 300-400 weekly participants and a community of more than 3,000 enthusiastic members.

Hermen’s running journey began while serving a sentence at HMP Manchester. There he started the first-ever prison Park Run which led on to forming Made. He credits the running club for turning his life around. His newest run will gather every Monday at Club de Padel, Owen Street, at 6.45pm. It will be his third and, he believes, biggest yet.

Lucy Noone Blake, co-founder of Club de Padel, said: “We’re thrilled to be playing host to Made every Monday at CDP. Made’s brand values and community-first approach are paramount and couldn’t be a better fit to partner with us at CDP. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved with Made’s Monday runs from the New Jackson development.”

We’re building something more than just a run club; they’re building something more than just a padel club and we love that.

About Hermen Dange (30): From Collyhurst, Manchester. Convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering. Spent three years in HMP Manchester, where he formed the first prison-based Park Run. Founded Made Running in August 2023. Membership is now 3000+ runners. Core activity: 5km group runs every Wednesday and Saturday (plus now Mondays) attended by 300 people on average. Made also organises a community hub offering employment support services including seminars, co-working spaces and networking events. Hermen is also an anti-drug crime ambassador, public speaker, fitness model and entrepreneur.

According to Hermen, it’s the run club’s accessibility that has driven this rapid growth and success: “We encourage everyone to get involved, regardless of background, running experience, age or fitness level. The diversity of the community is incredible, with runners including teenagers, young professionals, athletes, families, pensioners and people living with disabilities and health conditions. At Made we run together, supporting each other from the front, the middle and the back to ensure no one gets left behind.”

On choosing to launch his latest run with Club de Padel, Hermen said: “We love what the guys are doing down at CDP. It’s obvious that like us, they put their community at the heart of everything and that shows. We’re building something more than just a run club; they’re building something more than just a padel club and we love that. It’s also a great location, super central and with all the benefits of being located within the New Jackson development – well lit, security patrolled streets. We’re confident our community will feel safe and welcomed and, with bag drop and bathroom facilities as well as a fridge full of cold beers for afterwards, it’s a winner on all sides.”

Club de Padel will host Made Running every Monday, warm up at 6.45pm. The club will provide bag drop, cold drinks, coffee and toilet facilities for runners. The Made team stress that there is no cost, anyone of any ability can join the run and will not be left behind. More information on their socials. 🎾
