All new Babolat Lebron 26 – the wolf bites back

by Pete Mills

We’re used to hearing the crowd howl when ‘El Lobo’ steps onto the padel court, but for the 2026 season, Babolat is giving us something to really shout about. For the first time, the Juan Lebron collection has been completely separated from Babolat’s standard Technical range. It has evolved into its own distinct line, a full ecosystem of padel rackets, luggage and apparel stamped with the four-time padel world champion’s DNA.

Visually, the range is stunning. The branding is fiery orange and the distinctive wolf logo is embossed onto everything. But looking beyond the cosmetics, there is genuine innovation here, particularly in how Babolat has re-engineered the frames.

The racket revolution: plaided power

For me, the real star of the show (and my prediction for Babolat’s Racket of the Year) is the Viper Soft. Historically, the Lebron Viper has been a beast to play with: super-stiff and powerful but unforgiving. The new Viper Soft changes the game. It features a brand-new technology where the carbon is ‘plaided’ rather than woven. This allows for greater flexibility and a softer feel without sacrificing the explosive power Lebron is known for. It effectively makes elite-level power accessible to a much wider audience, saving your arm while still delivering that knockout punch.

For the purists and elite players, there’s the 2026 Viper. It’s based on the racket Lebron actually uses: 3K carbon face, very stiff and precision-engineered for those who can handle it.

For mere mortals, there’s the Veron – the perfect intermediate-to-advanced hybrid, utilising Carbon Flex (a mix of carbon and fiberglass) to blend power with comfort.

Lebron’s signature throat stability system is used across all three rackets in the range, offering significantly more control than previous Lebron models.

The Lebron 26 Viper soft changes the game for club players. The new plaided core makes elite-level performance accessible to a much wider audience.

The complete Lebron look

This isn’t just about rackets, it’s a head-to-toe range. The new Premura 3 Lebron shoe is a massive improvement on its predecessor. Babolat has added significant padding and support compared to the previous minimalist model. It’s hugely more comfortable: I’m wearing mine every day on the demo court and they’re a joy to play in.

The new racket bag is full faux leather in bright, fiery colours: it feels premium and distinctive. There are shorts, socks, crew neck tees and a muscle vest, all featuring the iconic wolf logo. And for the superfans, there’s a replica tee, so you can look exactly like your hero on court. Lebron might be a ‘marmite’ character in the padel world, due to his ferocious competitiveness, but his kit has a cult following – we expect this range to fly off the shelves.

As Lebron and his latest partner Leo Ausberger look to hit new heights, I’m expecting fireworks on the court to match the explosive branding.
