One of the UK’s most exciting padel club openings to date has announced it will welcome its first players on Monday, August 28th.
Padium, on Bank Street in the heart of Canary Wharf, will have seven indoor and one outdoor AFP panoramic courts and facilities including a pro shop, changing rooms, bar and mezzanine floor (complete with table tennis) for pre and post-match socialising.
The Bandeja understands that bookings open on August 14th via Playtomic. ‘Early-bird’ memberships are currently on offer via the app, giving 14 day advance bookings (standard is seven days) and access to the Playtomic Unlimited Plan.
Court fees for all will be £80 per hour per court and opening hours 6am-11pm. Club manager is Max Lutostanski and head coach Jorge Martinez, both well-known and highly regarded padel professionals.
The driving force behind Padium is CEO Houman Ashrafzadeh, co-founder of upmarket London salad bar chain Urbans Greens (which handily has a branch right next to Padium). He’s supported by COO and fitness industry pro Sara Kroik, who established Barry’s Bootcamp in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Padium is backed by Martin Lorentzon, the Swedish entrepreneur who co-founded Spotify.
Padium’s just-launched website states: “Padium’s vision is to set a new standard for padel in the UK and elevate the game by offering a world-class experience before, during, and after a match. We believe that details matter, from the ambiance that meets you the moment you step through the doors, to the personalised welcome from our team, to the high-quality facilities and the most competent coaches. We are passionate about the sport and dedicated to educating and welcoming players of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an ace, we make sure everyone feels at home.” 🎾
