He was hoping to be hired but The Apprentice hopeful Max England was last night fired by Lord Sugar after stumbling over product choice for a TV selling task.

The 31-year-old former tennis pro took charge of his team, hoping to win big with their selection of an inflatable kayak, picnic blanket, skincare gloves and face sauna to sell live on TV.
Despite their best efforts, and following tension in the director’s gallery between Max and fellow contenstant Dean, the team generated £1,300 income, £195 less than their competitor team.
In the boardroom showdown with Dean and Chisola, Max found himself in the firing line for choosing to sell the ‘niche’ kayak, with Lord Sugar holding him ‘accountable and responsible’ for the failure before pointing the finger ‘you’re fired’ finger.
Speaking on ‘The Apprentice You’re Fired’ show, Max said: “You always know when you put yourself forward as project manager that you are sort of putting yourself in the firing line and you have to have the leader take accountability. It was right for me to say that the failure of the task was partly down to me as the leader but it’s a really tricky one; we were close to that win we just didn’t quite get over the line.”
Max, who made it to the final eight contestants, had wanted to pitch plans for a premium padel club to Lord Sugar. 🎾
