Manchester’s Club de Padel opens for bookings

Tucked between the iconic towers of Deansgate Square in Manchester’s emerging New Jackson neighbourhood, Club de Padel – the city centre’s much-awaited padel club – will open to players from 7am on Tuesday, December 19th.

With four state-of-the-art panoramic courts, Club de Padel opens bookings to its Playtomic/Padel+ members today (December 5th) and to the general public on December 12th.

We’ve discovered a hardcore element of ‘paddicts’ who travel miles to play and are delighted we’re landing on their doorstep.”

As the world’s fastest growing sport gains momentum across the UK, interest in the Manchester launch has been huge following an announcement earlier this year, as club co-founder James Wigglesworth explained: “We can’t get over the support we’ve had from the city so far, our inbox hasn’t stopped with people asking when we’re opening, when they can book, how they can learn to play – it’s been great. We’ve also discovered a hardcore element of ‘paddicts’ who travel miles every week to play and are just delighted that we’re landing on their doorstep.”

Coaching plans

Head coach Alberto Cubero Torregrosa

Club de Padel has partnered with Adidas and HEAD to offer equipment for rental and purchase and has recruited Alberto Cubero Torregrosa as head coach to offer group and one-two-one sessions.

He said: “I can’t wait to get started at Club de Padel. Having grown up in Malaga I have been playing padel for more than 25 years, so I’m delighted to see it finally arrive in Manchester, where I now call home. It is important to me that everyone can enjoy this amazing sport so it doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, I am committed to helping you improve and have fun while doing it.”

Padel+ memberships, general bookings and coaching sessions can be accessed via booking system Playtomic. Padel+ allows players to book courts two weeks in advance, one week ahead of general release, and offers discounts on bookings, equipment and priority access to events.

Club de Padel has partnered with what it describes as ‘Manchester’s favourite coffee shop’ – Federal – for coffee and snacks on-site.
