11 court plans announced for TraffordCity
The Manchester padel revolution is well and truly underway with news that plans have been submitted for 11 courts at TraffordCity, a retail, leisure and commercial destination that attracts 44 million visits each year.
Kristopher Ball, founder of The Padel Club in Wilmslow, is behind the project which – together with the established We Are Padel in Derby – will be the second largest padel facility in the UK once operational. It will also be the first padel club located within a high profile/high footfall retail location.
Nine covered and two outdoor courts are planned for the £2 million, 1.5 acre development which includes a clubhouse and what is described as ‘social space for players to connect and create a community’. Construction is geared-up to start this year with an estimated completion time of approximately 4 months.

The Padel Club opened in Wilmslow last July with two courts and has quickly established itself as the area’s go-to padel hub. It has since expanded to cope with exceptional demand, with sports stars, actors and influencers making use of its facilities. The Bandeja crowned it the ‘most beautiful club in the country’ last year and the new facility at the TraffordCity looks set to follow suit, with an architectural design and landscaped surrounds. Fifteen jobs are expected to be created. 🎾
